ECA: Event - Condition - Action

Configurable workflows to respond to system events, check conditions, and trigger actions.

BPMN IO module provides a robust UI for building workflows.

This module replaces Rules, Business Rules, and similar modules.

It is highly recommended to develop workflows in a development environment because they will make changes to your database and take time to get right.

ECA workflow using the BPMN UI. This fires after a Collection is added/updated, loads referenced items, and sets the collection image field on each one to the referenced media.

One challenge working with ECA is that you have to set up the conditions and trigger the action manually. This makes it difficult to test or modify later after you forgot how exactly it works.

You can add log actions to print token values, and use the ECA log to debug the workflow.

Version 2

ECA v2 is in beta, with a few modules not yet compatible.

ECA Webprofiler is only available for v2.
